Why
is Safe Tan unique and how is it
different from common self-tanners? |
| |
Safe
Tan utilises a spray and blend
method of application. The product is applied
from a hand held bottle (which utilises a finger
pump action), to 'spray' Safe Tan
onto either the paddle or directly onto the
skin.
The colour is then spread and 'blended' with
a sponge foam applicator paddle. The brush allows
you to
control the colour, as well as
stimulating the lymphatic system.
In
contrast to many other self-tanners which use
expensive, messy or time-consuming equipment*,
or which are restricted to salon application
- this simple 'spray and blend' technique
is 'no-mess',
easy-to-apply and gives you instant
colour.
Whether you're after an 'all-over' tan or just
a 'touch-up', Safe Tan offers you an affordable
and convenient way to maintain a
healthy tan all year round.
Safe
Tan contains cold pressed Aloe
Vera as its base. This moisturises,
rather than dries the skin, and improves
the look and feel of your skin. Safe
Tan uses food grade cosmetic colours,
and contains no harsh chemicals
or preservatives. This is in contrast to many
other self-tanners that use 'harsh, smelly'
chemicals and preservatives.
Unlike common self tanners, Safe Tan
colours and conditions
3 layers deep, so the skin
underneath is tanned, not just the surface layer.
No blotching
and no streaks
- just colour that lasts and fades like a
real tan.
In contrast to many self-tanner formulas that
contain chemicals which react with melanin in
the skin (often resulting in the skin taking
on an orange hue), Safe Tan's formula
works with the skin's natural Amino Acids and
adjusts to each
individual's skin tones.
This gives a realistic and natural colour...
no orange!
Safe
Tan is brown in the bottle and goes on
brown. You immediately see where colour is applied.
This allows you to apply all-over
even colour... a perfect tan every
time.
This is in contrast to many other sunless-tanning
products or methods where you either need to
wait a period of time (sometimes for hours!)
or you're reliant on the skill of the technician...
'hoping' you'll turn out OK.
The result with Safe Tan is instant,
believable and long
lasting, natural colour - every time...!

| 2: |
What
are the main benefits of Safe Tan? |
| |
Safe Tan has many features and benefits,
including the flexibility
of applying your own tan in the privacy and
convenience of your own home.
The product is applied using a unique spray
and blend application; there's no
need to exfoliate, it tans the skin 3
layers deep, offers a streak
free application, doesn't
dye hair, tans your face
and scalp, can easily
fix a faded tan from waxing or shaving,
helps to disguise
white strap marks and burnt skin, and gives
you an easy option for a last
minute tan.
Safe Tan contains no
harsh chemicals: it's good for your skin,
contains no
AHA's, has no
offensive smell and no
orange hue. There's no
blotchy fade out, and it's safe
for pregnant women to use.
Safe Tan's special formula means it
is used very successfully with many medical
conditions and
skin disorders.
|
|
|
|
| |
| 3: |
How
long does Safe Tan last? |
| |
Although each individual will vary, Safe Tan
lasts approximately a week on the
body, and three to four days on the face*.
Because Safe Tan penetrates three layers
of skin deep, it fades just as a normal tan
does. That is, as the skin is sloughed off (exfoliates)
and the lower layers are exposed, thanks to
the (Safe Tan) carriers, the skin underneath
is already tanned and moisturised - hence the
natural fading.
[* The face and hands normally exfoliate a
little quicker due to more frequent washing.
Simply re-apply mid week for a consistent tan.]
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 4: |
Why
do I have to shake the bottle before each spray?
|
| |
Safe Tan contains no emulsifiers,
so the ingredients separate within the bottle
(just like an oil and vinegar dressing).
No emulsifiers means less chemicals,
which is better and healthier for your skin
and body.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 5: |
Can
I tan my face? |
| |
Yes!
You can tan your entire face, and also up into
the hair line.
Safe Tan does not attach
to live amino acids. As hair is not live, you
can brush and blend the colour up into the hair
line, over eyebrows, eyelids and even beards.
Simply spray Safe Tan onto
the paddle and then blend the colour over your
face. As you won't see any 'stop start' lines,
your tan will look completely natural. As an
added bonus, you may even find you need to use
less makeup / foundation.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 6: |
Why
is Safe Tan applied with a paddle
/ brush? Can I apply it with a spray gun instead? |
| |
Safe Tan is specifically designed to
be applied with the sponge applicator paddle,
and is not designed for use in
spray guns or airbrush equipment.
Spraying
the colour (directly onto your skin or onto
the paddle), and then spreading and blending
the colour with the applicator paddle allows
you to control the colour.
The 'brushing' (blending) also helps stimulate
the lymphatic system.
Instant colour also means you can see exactly
where the colour is. This means you can easily
check your work and won't miss any part of your
body, ensuring even smooth colour.
Safe Tan is also in a concentrate
form. Very little product is needed
to obtain beautiful natural colour making it
affordable
to use all year round.
No equipment means no mess, no
waste and nothing to clean up which
means more time to do the things you
love to do...!

| |
| 7: |
Can
I make the colour darker? What if I have pale
skin? |
| |
The beauty about Safe Tan is that you
get to choose the depth of colour you like or
feel comfortable with.
The colour you see on your first application
will intensify over the first 10-12 hours. This
will give you a 'sun-kissed' tan.
For those people with pale (fair) skin or
who haven't been able to tan previously or are
not used to much colour, this 1 application
is often enough.
However if you prefer a deeper colour (tan),
you can re-apply up to 3 days in a row. You'll
be about 80% darker with the 2nd application.
For a really exotic tan, re-apply a 3rd application
on the 3rd day.
When you've obtained the depth of colour you're
comfortable with, simply reapply every 7 - 10
days to maintain a consistent tan.
Never re-apply without
first waiting a minimum of 10-12 hours (24 hours
is best) and showering. If you do, the colour
will ‘coat itself’, absorb unevenly and all
your good work will be undone.
|
|
|
|
| |
| 8: |
How
often can I apply Safe Tan? |
| |
Depending on the depth of colour required,
apply Safe Tan once a day, for up to
three days in a row. Then re-apply once
a week to maintain the colour, twice a week
on your face.
Never re-apply without
first waiting a minimum of 10-12 hours (24 hours
is best) and showering. If you do, the colour
will ‘coat itself’, absorb unevenly. Following
the instructions provided will ensure you get
the best results.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 9: |
Is
Safe Tan a sunscreen? |
| |
No, Safe Tan is not a sunscreen! While
Safe Tan contains non-paba sunscreen,
no SPF claims are made.
Appropriate sunscreen application and protection
is always recommended to prevent sun damage.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 10: |
How
long does Safe Tan take to dry? How
soon can I dress? |
| |
Safe Tan is dry within a few minutes.
So once you've finished applying, simply check
your work and you can get dressed straight away.
No more standing naked for 20 minutes, waiting
and not touching anything!
Unlike other self-tanners, Safe Tan will
not rub off on your clothes after the first
rinse. No more orange bras!
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 11: |
Will Safe Tan wash off? Can I still
go swimming etc.? |
| |
No! When you first apply Safe Tan, it
begins absorbing into the skin at the rate of
about one layer every three hours. As it hydrates
and colours three layers of skin, it will
take 10 - 12 hours for full absorption.
During this initial 10 - 12 hour period, water
and perspiration inducing activities (e.g. exercise,
swimming, showering etc.) should be avoided
as these can interfere with Safe Tan's
absorption of colour.
However after this 10 - 12 hour
application period and your first shower, you
can resume all your regular activities.
[Note: While engaging in activities
where the skin is subject to moisture or water
(i.e. swimming, exercise etc.) won't wash off
your tan, keep in mind that some of these activities
(i.e. swimming in chlorinated pools, heavy perspiration
etc. ) may speed up your own skin's natural
exfoliation rate.
As the skin naturally exfoliates, your tan
will naturally tan - in just the same way as
it would with a normal tan. So if you are swimming
a lot etc., you may find that your tan fades
a little quicker than normal. It simply means
you may need to re-apply Safe Tan a little
more frequently to maintain your desired depth
of colour.]

|
|
| 12: |
What if I make a mistake during application?
|
| |
As you see instant colour as soon as you apply
Safe Tan, it's very easy to avoid mistakes
and ensure smooth even application.
However once you've finished and checked your
work, if you do happen to have missed
a section or patch of skin, simply apply a bit
more colour and blend or touch up those areas.
And if you do happen to make a mistake,
don't panic! Safe Tan is fully washable
within the first hour. Simply use a soapy washer
/ flannel, or cotton wool soaked with Witch
Hazel to remove colour from any area of your
skin.
|
|
|
|
| |
| 13: |
Can
I apply Safe Tan more than once a
day? If not, why not? |
| |
Safe Tan should not
be applied more more than once a day.
Remember Safe Tan is different to many
self-tanners in that it absorbs the colour down
to 3 layers of skin. The skin is only able to
absorb colours and moisturisers at a given rate.
If you apply Safe Tan prior to full
absorption (10 - 12 hours minimum, 24 hours
is best), the colour can coat itself and absorb
improperly. This can result in an unnatural
and uneven look.
Just remember these simple steps:
- Step 1: Apply
- Step 2: Wait 10 - 12 hours
(minimum)
- Step 3: Shower
- Step 4: Re-apply (where darker
colour is desired)
- Step 5: Once the depth of colour
has been obtained, simply reapply about once
a week to maintain your tan.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| 14: |
Does
Safe Tan stain clothes? |
| |
No - unlike many self-tanners, when you use
Safe Tan, you won't end up with stained
clothing or orange bras!
Some of the Safe Tan colour 'can' rub
off onto your clothes just after application
- until you have had your first shower*. However
it won't stain your clothes, and can
easily be washed out.
For your convenience, it's best to avoid
wearing white clothes following application.
Although it's not essential, avoiding very tight
clothing during this initial application period
will reduce the potential for any friction,
rubbing or sweating that may interfere with
Safe Tan's absorption.
TIP: Most people find that applying
Safe Tan in the evening and then showering
the next morning is a convenient and practical
tanning routine. This routine also works well
in hot weather when it's cooler in the evenings
and sweating can be avoided.
[*Safe Tan is in a concentrate form,
so very little product is needed to obtain colour.
As the skin is only able to absorb so much colour,
using an excess of colour simply results in
wastage. Any excess colour is rinsed / washed
off in the first shower following application.]
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 15: |
Will
lotions, perfume, sunscreens etc. affect Safe
Tan? |
| |
Lotions, perfume, sunscreens, moisturisers
etc. only need to be avoided during the initial
10 - 12 absorption period following application,
and simply because they can interfere with Safe
Tan's full absorption of colour into the
3 layers of skin.
After this period, you can safely resume all
your normal routines.
Once you've had your first shower and any excess
colour has been rinsed and washed off, aftershaves,
lotions, perfumes etc. won't impact on your
tan. Your new tanned skin will feel like it's
your skin - only better!
TIP: Because Safe Tan contains
moisturisers within its formula, not only will
your skin look and feel better, you'll also
save time and money as regular use frequently
reduces or eliminates the need for other moisturisers.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 16: |
How
do I apply Safe Tan to my knees,
elbows and other problem areas? |
| |
Because
the skin in areas such as the knee and elbows
is drier, these areas can grab and absorb more
colour and moisturisers than other parts of
the body.
If too much colour is applied, these
areas can therefore appear (unnaturally) darker.
Therefore (as with most self-tanners), only
a limited amount of colour is
needed in these areas.
The
beauty about Safe Tan is that you
have complete control over the amount of colour
that's applied, while the paddle applicator
allows you a simple way to feather and spread
the colour in these areas.
Simply use the 'dry' side of the application
paddle (the side with very little colour left
in it), and 'lightly' feather the colour.
But don't panic. If you 'do' make a
mistake, Safe Tan is still fully washable
within the first hour... wash it and fix it!
NOTE: Detailed instructions are included with
each purchase.

|
|
| |
|
| 17: |
Can
I use Safe Tan if I'm pregnant? |
| |
Safe
Tan doesn't cross the blood barrier
and is non toxic.
It
can be especially nice for pregnancy since it
has no foul odour, or nausea inducing
fragrance.
Safe
Tan also helps disguise the facial discolouration
that sometimes accompanies pregnancy. It helps
keep the skin more supple and smooth with very
little effort.
|
|
|
|
| |
| 18: |
Will
Safe Tan go streaky? |
| |
No.
Simply follow the instructions and you’ll get
a perfect 'streak free' tan every time.
With Safe Tan you see instant colour
as soon as it's applied. The paddle applicator
allows you to spread and blend
colour easily and evenly.
Once you've applied your tan, just check your
work. If you happen to have missed a bit, simply
'fill in' and blend the colour across.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| 19: |
Other
sunless tans go patchy and scaly after a couple
of days. Will Safe Tan? |
| |
No. In contrast to many self-tanners that simply
coat the top layer or skin, Safe Tan colours
and conditions 3 cell layers deep.
That's why you have colour that fades gradually
and evenly - just like a normal tan. (As the
skin is (naturally) sloughed off, the lower
layers of skin expose skin that has already
been tanned).
|
|
|
|
| |
|
| 20: |
What
about shaving and waxing? |
| |
It's better to shave or wax in the morning
(or day before) and tan yourself in the
evening.
Shaving and waxing can irritate the skin, -
and use of Safe Tan immediately afterwards
can cause unnecessary moments of discomfort.
Pulling the hair with the razor (or wax strip)
also enlarges the hair follicles, and can result
in tiny dark spots if Safe Tan is applied
immediately after. (I.e. Safe Tan colour
gets trapped in the hair follicle. Don't panic
- these will wash away in the next shower).
After
three or four days of shaving, a subtle difference
in colour may exist from the shaved to the unshaved
areas, just as with a real tan. With Safe Tan,
it's easy to simply re-apply a little 'touch
up' to these lighter areas.
So
the good news is - with Safe Tan you can
shave or wax and still have colour -
without streaks, ugly knees or rusty ankles,
elbows or knees.

|
| |
|
| 21: |
Are
there several colours to choose from? |
| |
No. Although you can order
Safe Tan in 3 convenient sizes, the
one colour is suitable for everyone. That means
no more hassles (or mistakes!) trying
to find a colour or product to match or suit
your skin.
Unlike many topical self-tanners that 'sit'
on the surface of the skin, Safe Tan's
unique formula works with the
skin's natural Amino Acids, and adjusts
to each individual's skin tones.
This gives a realistic and natural colour
and your own unique tan. The colour is
carried down to 3 layers of skin, so not only
does your tan look like a 'real' tan,
it fades like one too.
If you'd like more depth of colour after the
first application, simply follow the instructions
provided and re-apply up to 3 days in a row.

| 22: |
What
ingredients are in Safe Tan? |
| |
One of the first things you'll notice about
the list of ingredients in Safe Tan is
that it's a short list!
There are no harsh chemicals,
no preservatives, emulsifiers,
allergens or irritants.
Safe Tan offers only the best emollients,
nutrients, humectants and skin care ingredients.
This means it's better for your skin and your
health.
The
base of Safe Tan is cold-pressed Aloe
Vera. It also contains other moisturisers
and humectants, FDA approved colours and a small
amount of evaporative SD-alcohol that allows
Safe Tan to dry quickly without drying
the skin.
The cosmetic colours along with plant extracts,
help create your own individualised tan shade
while the carriers takes the colour and moisturisers
into the top three layers of your skin.

they're used for, please click

| 23: |
Can
I still sunbathe / sunbake? |
| |
Absolutely! Once you've applied Safe Tan
and had your first shower following application,
you can resume all your normal routines.
If you're going away on a beach / summer holiday,
applying Safe Tan before you go away will
help avoid that conspicuous “FOP” (Fresh Off
the Plane) look.
Safe Tan’s moisturising action also helps
prepare your skin for sunbaking.
Use any type of sunscreen - and as high a SPF
as you wish*. Reapplying Safe Tan after
a few days or at the end the week will help
to augment your developing tan.
[*Note: Safe Tan is not a sunscreen.
Appropriate sunscreen application and protection
is always recommended to prevent sun damage.]
|
|
|
|
| |
| 24: |
Does
Safe Tan age? |
| |
Safe Tan uses as few chemical components
as possible, and has no preservatives.
It's better for your skin this way, but without
the regular harmful preservatives and with its
Aloe Vera base, - after time, nature conquers
and the cosmetic colours break down.
Safe Tan has an approximate 10 month
shelf life, however you can easily extend the
shelf life by keeping your bottle refrigerated.
Don't worry. Safe Tan is still safe to
use after this period, however the colour may
not be as intense or as rich or last as long.

|
| 25: |
I
haven't been able to use a lot of other self tanners
because I have sensitive skin. Will I be able
to use Safe Tan? |
| |
Many self-tanners contain a range of harsh
chemicals and preservatives which is the reason
why individuals with sensitive skin often have
reactions when they use them (or are unable
to use them at all).
Safe Tan is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic,
has a pH of 5.5, and helps to balance
oily or dry skin. The product has an Aloe
Vera base, and does NOT contain harsh chemicals
or preservatives.
As
a result of this unique formula, Safe Tan
has been used very successfully by many people
with sensitive skin, along with a range of skin
disorders and medical conditions.
For
example, dermatologists have found that Safe
Tan often calms skin conditions such as
Psoriasis, Eczema, and the skin disorder associated
with Diabetes. Safe Tan has also been
effectively used as an aid Acne, Rosacea, Vitiligo,
and Lupus. (For more detailed information, please

Tan, please click

[Note: Naturally everyone's skin type
is different, and sensitivity will vary between
individuals. However in most instances because
of Safe Tan's make-up, there is a very
good likelihood that individuals with skin sensitivity
can expect a good result using Safe Tan.
Of course, if you decide to try it and for any
reason experience an unsatisfactory result,
your purchase is safely covered by our NO-RISK
money
back guarantee.]

|
| 26: |
If
a small bottle (56ml) does up to 4 applications,
how can a medium (115ml) do up to 12? |
| |
Think of applying Safe Tan as painting
a house. The first coat always requires the
most paint (especially if it's never been painted
before). However subsequent coats are quicker
and require less paint to achieve a coverage
of colour.
The first few times you apply Safe Tan,
your skin will require and absorb the most product
to achieve even smooth coverage of colour. Thereafter,
if you're maintaining your tan on a regular
basis, your skin will become rehydrated and
requires less product to maintain
the same rich colour and silky feel.
Of course, if you only want to use Safe Tan
irregularly and allow it to fade in between
uses, that's entirely up to you. Just remember,
a 'new' tan application will require more product
than 'maintaining' an existing one.
The cost per application works out more economically
if you're using Safe Tan on a regular
basis, but the good thing is - you get to choose
the size that's best for you.

Has
Safe Tan been tested or undergone any clinical
tests? |
| |
Absolutely! Unlike many self-tanning products
or 'fly-by-night's', Safe Tan has been
around for well over a decade (since the early
1990's), and was formulated by the manufacturer
following extensive
research.
Independent clinical testing was conducted
in the late 1990's to support (and prove) Safe
Tan's product claims. Click
